If you are just getting into the domain industry, it is hard to do better than starting out with NameCheap.com. Not only does this registrar have one of the cheapest rates in the industry, but it also is one of the easiest registrars to buy and sell domains with. Want to change ownership of your domains with any hassles? No problem, just use Namecheap’s push feature to put the name into your buyer’s account. You do not need a password just for that domain or the buyer’s contact info. All you need is the buyer’s Namecheap account name. That’s it!

Another great feature is that you can add funds to your account using PayPal. This feature definitely saves your credit card bill if you have money at PayPal. In fact, this is the feature that brought me to Namecheap in the first place. I was tired of running up credit card bills buying domains.

The only complaint about this Enom reseller would be that it experiences rare but occasional system problems that can prevent you from making an immediate transaction. From problems with determining whether a domain is available or not (when it double checks at the end) to database problems, these issues, albeit temporary, can be frustrating. This is especially true when you find a domain name that really catches your eye and you want to grab it before somebody else does. Thankfully, support minimizes these problems whenever they arise.

I may have went to Namecheap to lighten the burden on my credit card bill, but I have stayed because of the customer support, selling domains is easy there, and it employs a very clean interface. The new feature for tracking parked domains only adds to the value of doing business there.

Domain Radar’s Rating (out of 5 stars): ****3/4

Pros
•  allows customers to pay via PayPal instead of using a credit card only
•  quick and helpful customer support
•  one of the most efficient and easy-to-use interfaces of any registrar
•  $8.88 is one of the better rates at a major registrar
•  easy pushes for buying and selling domains
•  new parked domain statistics

Cons
•  rare system problems when a transaction can’t be processed

The Verdict - One of the best places to buy and manage your domain names.

Dear all
05/17/2009 I made order 2 domains on namechaep.com
After I made order 2 domains on your system I made Whois and domain unavailable for register (Of course) But today when I login to my account I still see 2 domains above listing on my account but I can’t do anything with 2 domains.

I tried to contact to namechaep.com at Support, but they ONLY refund money to my account at namechaep.com and do nothing.
This is email from them

Dear Pham,

To my great regret I must inform you that there was an error in our system so your order was not successful and the domain names in question failed to be registered with us, $17.62 were refunded to your Namecheap account. Today when we were going to proceed with the registrations of the domain names we were unhappy to find out that today those domain names were registered with another registrar, DIRECTI INTERNET SOLUTIONS PVT. LTD. D/B/A PUBLICDOMAINREGISTRY.COM so currently they are under their control. Please accept our apologies for this incident however, unfortunately, we can not do anything to fix this problem.

(The two domains) was register by another people.

I think namechaep.com see good domain so they tried to get its and make me down.

Please tell me How to (take action against) Namecheap.com?

Tuan,

Unfortunately, what happened to you is common if there is a popular domain name. There are companies with automated tools that find and register names that they believe they can resell for more money…this is probably what happened when namecheap had a system issue and could not register your domains. By the time they fixed the system issue the domains you wanted had already been registered.

If you read the terms of service, there is no action you can take against namecheap unless they fail to refund your money. Other than that you’re SOL.
