Since some radars can be high-tech, lets start
with a high-tech twist. When an innovative technology starts to receive
mainstream coverage, any decent domains containing that technology are snapped
up quickly. The latest technology that fits this description is RFID. RFID
stands for Radio Frequency Identification and is one of the most exciting
consumer technologies in quite some time.
The best part is that RFID is already in
widespread use! You can use RFID at places like Exxon and Mobile gas stations
(go to speedpass.com for more info) now but that is only the beginning. You can
also find it at McDonalds and you will eventually be able to at Walmart as well.
You may even find it on products by Procter Gamble and Revlon in the future.
How does RFID work? You sign up for an account
with your credit card. You then receive a key tag that corresponds to that
account. To buy something, you simply wave your key tag over a tag reader and,
presto, your all set. At McDonalds, you will be able to use the key tag inside
and at the drive-thru.
Since this emerging technology is far from being
a secret, the best domains using RFID have been taken. In fact, a few domainers
have going on buying binges of RFID names. According to DeletedDomains.com, over
400 domains containing RFID have been registered in the past two months.
